This Thursday we find ourselves at the International Fancy Food Show in Washington, DC. This annual event holds the world’s potpourri of food producers and their special products from every corner of the earth, from Asia-Pacific to S. Africa, from all parts of the Americas, North and South, from the Middle East to the Far West, and from some of the most remote places on the globe.
It’s not only the largest show of its kind but a cultural phenomenon. For the third year in-a-row, Mr. Ron Tanner, VP, Communications for NASFT, the producers of the show tells us what’s here and why. Aniello Mussela, Director, Italian Trade Commissioner for N.A. gives us a birds-eye-view of what Italy has to offer the U.S. marketplace this year making it the largest foreign participant by far. More than 500 food and wine vendors from over 20 regions are fully represented here. The regions of Sardinia and Sicily, with their distinctive palates gave us more than we asked for. Special thanks to Mr.Luigi Usai, from Sardinia, and Ms.Celeste Zedda, from Sicily, and to the Consul General in New York, Mr.Francesco Maria Talo, for helping get the message across.
