Iran, from the inside.
A wide-ranging discussion with Behzad Yaghmaian, an American citizen
who was born in Iran, and Steal This Radio host Mitchel Cohen. Behzad
is currently a professor of Economics at Ramapo College in New Jersey.
Behzad is author of “Embracing the Infidel: Stories of Muslim
Migrants on the Journey West,” an eye-opening accont of a modern-day
undergroun railroad that stretches from Istanbul to Paris and from
London to New York City.
From 1998 to 1999, Behzad was a columnist for the popular Iranian
newspaper Neshat, and over the past fifteen years he has studied,
taught, and written about issues of political economy, globalization,
and the Middle East.
He is also author of “Social Change in Iran: An Eyewitness Account of
Dissent, Defiance, and New Movements for Rights.
